CONTINUED FROM PARIS, FRANCE
The Bat-gyro landed on what looked like a headless statue of a six armed elephant and slid open, Bruce, now dressed as Batman, and Julie Madison stepping out into the ruins.
The city was deserted, had been for years, and had an eerie feeling to it, added to by the fact that she was about to meet a man that had twice tried to murder her, Julie was not feeling so good.
"Are you sure you can do this?" Batman asked.
Julie looked at her ex-fiance` now dressed in a skin-tight costume with a cape, finned gloves and horns on his mask.
"You ask now?"
He smiled slightly and then pointed to an old temple.
"There. The temple of what the Africans thought was their god of land.
There's a pool in there that changes a mans entire body into clay. The second clayface, Matt Hagen, discovered it first.
The god of land they believed in was probably just some begger that had fallen in."
"How touching."
"And Basil Karlo's been hiding out here for months."
"I hate my life."
"We haven't even seen his son or wife, there could be three or four of those monsters in there."
"My dream come true."
"You need to convince himto talk to me."
"If he doesn't kill me first."
"Just do it."
"How'd I let you talk me into this Bru...Batman?"
"My overwhelming charm." He said, gritting his teeth and using "the voice".
"Oh yeah." She said, equally as sarcastic.
"If you need me just push the button on the com-link I gave you."
"If I'm still in one piece."
"He burns people up or disolves them, not cutting involved."
"And I thought the knife was bad."
"Be carefull."
"Gee, ya think I should?"
"Just go."
Julie looked back at him, then nervously approached the cave-like temple.
"You owe me Bru...Batman."
"I thought you didn't love me anymore." He smiled.
She glarred and then stepped into the temple.
