rOBIN 121 AND nIGHTWING 88&89 SPOILERS Has anyone seen the latest eam on Robin? I was a bit....skeptical before picking it up, but its actualy pretty good!.....Except their making Robin look a bit....well, TOO enthusiastic. I've always thought of him as more of a cool card. But the introduction of Bernard and other characters were pretty good. Espicial when he tried to 'place Tim in a cliche' but couldn't! LOL. And then Theres nightwing....THEY KILLED OFF HIS ENTIRE APARTMENT BUILDING! ANd his 'Grandfather(No, not Alfred. A Gypsie). Thing is, his 'grandfather' also gave him this 'wedding wine' thing for their rom holiday. "Is good for popping the question." My foreshadowing skills are picking up on something here....... So, so far: Bluckbuster has Destroyed Dicks Circus His apartment Building and all of its inhabtants(Except that one dudes name I can't remember whos invunerable) AND his relationship with babs, Not to mention he als loss his Job. The Writer is REALLY unraveling poor little Dickys life Whats next?...I don't even want to know. Great issue, I just really don't want to know. Jeeze, how much more can a guy take before he snaps? Of course, thats what Blockbuster is expecting. Loved the line 'Ok, so I'm Daywing rightnow. Sue me." Any comments guys?

I haven't much liked what they've done with Robin as of late in his own book. I mean take issue 121. Tim was acting more like Dick Grayson when he was Robin back in the day. He made alot of mistakes, that he should never had made in the first place. They were things he hasn't done since he first put on the costume. And his relationship with Batman isn't what it should be. He wasn't treated like a partner, but a sidekick. Something that Tim Drake's Robin has never been. They were always partners first and foremost. His new pal, Bernard is way over the top, and at first I thought he was gay or something from the way he was checking out Tim at their initial meeting. He seemed WAY too interested in Tim at first. Issue 122 was a bit better, but not by much. Robin still was shown as a rookie instead of the strong capable character he's become. And the end? Giving Tim a motorcycle? He had the freakin' REDBIRD car! Give that back to him!! I personally like the Teen Titans comic interpretation of Robin better. He's not a lightweight there and he's become a major bad-ass. ****** As for Nightwing, now thats a good read! I mean, I'm angry for what they've done to Dick and Babs' relationship, but still... Blockbuster's attacks on Nightwing and Dick Grayson are majorly intriguing... I wonder what's going to happen to Nightwing in the end...?

Eh, thats alright.
BTW. I just got Robin 122 and I, now, completely agree. It was like that just stabbed 'johnny' had him loose his arm, and rittle that girl with bullets....just for the sake of gore.
And Tim has NEVER been the jock/popular cliche guy.....wheres Ives? He was in the comic a few issues back. He was supposed to be going to the same SCHOOL as Tim, so where the heck is he?
And I just now saw the motorcycle....he's sixteen GIVE HIM THE REDBIRD BACK!!!!
And his 'training'.....It IS like he's a sidekick/rookie again. This would have been fine in the beginning of his costumed career(Except for the part with Alfred baiting him........He should be more of a grandfather type. Just like how batman should be dark and broading, not border line campy....I'm half expecting him to call robin 'Chum' ~Shudder) but he's been Robin for two or three years now( Or ten+ years....whatever) he shouldn't be treated like the newbie. SPOILER is actualy acting a bit more cool and responsible than Tim right now.
I didn't like how the book was becoming Vertigoish a while back.....but now its so out of character......its not even the Tim we all know..... ... ... Sorry had to rant.
In other news.... Superman: Secret Identity #1 Rocked! Can't wait for issue two. Anyone read this yet?
And can anyone suggest some comics for me? I'm beginning to thikn about dropping robin and , maybe, take up Catwoman.
What is everyone else reading? A list please?

I'm gonna stick with ROBIN for a little while longer. It's writer is still new and MAYBE he'll get better. I hope. All I know is the guy needs to get with it and actually read about Robin's past and who he is.
Tim Drake seems more like Nightwing than Robin.
And is it me or does the art make all the men look like women?
Good Comic titles though...
Batman:Gotham Knights Outsiders Birds of Prey New X-Men Uncanny X-Men Nightwing Teen Titans Teen Titans GO! (its stupid but fun)

Rach, check out the "Black Reign"*. It's a Hawkman/JSA crossover and that story proves what I already known: Geoff Johns seriously rock!!!! The way he shows Hawkman... it's... scary!!
I start reading Justice League International in my early teen years and Kevin Maguire and JM De Matteis pretty much make me became a comic book fan. Those books were AWESOME! And now "Formerly Known as the Justice League" was just as good. You should check it out also.
Like Alan said, "Outsiders" rules!!
*JSA 56 Hawkman 23 JSa 57 Hawman 24 JSA 58 (that will be published this week) Hawkman 25 (that will be published next week)
