A man in a black buisness suit and brown trenchcoat wearing a mask similer to shinobi's sat in a large leather chair behind a desk as he looked at the arrival in his office. Lady Shiva.
"From what i hear lady shiva you are the greatest martial artist in the world. as well as a very effective assasin. thats good. i have a...thorn in my side i wish you to defeat. kill him or let him live it doesnt much matter. but i must request that if you do spare his life you give me an evaluation of his fighting skill. This is your target." He said handing her a picture of a man in a traditional ninja gi. "he calls himself 'shinobi' as well this..." he said handing her a map of new york. "is the area he seems to concentrate his activity in. You will be paid after you defeat shinobi. i leave the rest in your capable hands."

"Let's get one thing straight," Shiva said, crossing her arms and smirking. Her shoulder length black hair shown in the dim-light and she wore a tight fitting black and red leoatard. Her eyes were like that of a tiger, and the mysterious man could tell that she'd sooner kill him solely for breathing the wrong way. "I am not one of your lackies. My services do not come cheap. And I demand half the money up front and an explaination as to why I should waste my time with this... Shinobi. Otherwise, our buisness here is done."

The man laughed a bit then answered. "all right. half now. as for the reason shinobi has been causing a lot of disruptions around this place. former crime lords are losing athority. thats how i got too where i am now. But he's becoming a bigger problem for me. from what i've seen and what my people report he is a martial artist. so who better to face him then another martial artist? They say he's good. but i hear your better."

Shiva didn't reply but gave a sinister smile. She was one of the best in the world, and that was no small brag. The only people in existance she considered her equals were the Batman and his protge, Batgirl. And only Batgirl had been able to defeat her in a battle of fighting skills, without any form of trickery or such. Simply one warrior against the other.
She had been defeated by one other. In fact, she had been killed by him, only to be revived later. Her former pupil, Robin was fast growing in his own skills, but the Little Bird still had a great deal to learn. During their battle the Little Bird had an unnatural edge to his skills. A rare drug that gave him super-human speed. That had been the only way he could have beaten her. Maybe one day, but not yet... "I expect the money in my account before the banks close today," Shiva said. The next moment she was gone almost as if she had never been there.

Shinobi stood facing one of the ghost dragons. Recently they had been invading other gang territory in new york. This particalur ghost dragon was the only one left. and was unarmed. the fight was breif. two hits and shinobi turned to leave the pile of unconcious gang members walking out the door. Of course great martial artists have a sixth sense of whats around them. "Dont bother hiding. i know your there."

(Aww... I was hoping to screw around with Shinobi's head a bit, before they confronted one another... A bit quick for the fight huh?)
Shiva was leaning up against a brickwall in a casual manner, her arms crossed and her face emotionless. She had watched the ninja battling against the most recent group of Ghost Dragons. The boy had decent skills, but she wasn't impressed. He was new, and un-diciplined. She could see a familarness in his moves though. The Little Bird. And another she hadn't faced in years.
"Who's hiding?" she said with a false laugh. "It certainly took you long enough to notice me, child."

Shiva raised an eyebrow. Kids today... She wanted to laugh as he met her eyes. Trying to show he was tough and without fear. He was still a novice. She returned her own look, and her eyes told him all that needed to be said. She wasn't to be taken lightly.
She walked about him, examining his garb. No doubt she was making the boy a bit uncomfortable with her close proximity. She paused before him and stared down at him with a smirk.
"We shall meet again soon," she said, "I suggest that you prepare youself. And tell Robin and your Grandfather that Shiva said Hello." Before he could say anything she was gone.

Shinobi let out a breath that he didnt know he was holding as Lady Shiva left. "what...the..." He asked before he too left before police sirens started coming.
***at the dojo***
"tell me she said hello..." Enoki said looking his grandson over. "hmmm..." He went over former students in his mind and gave a breif discription. "did she look like that?"
Adam (for he is now out of costume) nodded.
"I see...i helped to train her once. she goes by the name 'lady shiva'." Enoki said going to his computer using the link to oracle robin had given the two of them to ask for information on lady shiva for adam to observe.

The Oracle image on the computer altered to show the file on Lady Shiva:
Real name: Shiva Wu-San Occupation: Martial artist Base of Operations: Unknown Marital Status: Single Height: 5' 8" Weight: 135 Eyes: Brown Hair: Black
In the history of martial arts, one name stands above all the rest: Shiva.
Life presents many different paths and opportunities to a person. Sandra Woosan's life took a destructive path when Guano Cravat, a criminal industrialist, convinced her that martial artist/spy Richard Dragon killed her sister Carolyn. Motivated by revenge, Sandra dedicated her life to mastering the martial arts, hoping one day she could beat Dragon at his own game. In a brief time, Sandra became a master of many forms of combat and confronted Dragon.
Convincing her that Cravat lied, Dragon ended Sandra's quest for revenge. Finding herself deeply schooled in an art for which she no longer had a use, Sandra, urged on by Dragon, began to explore the spiritual side of the martial arts. In time, she began calling herself "Shiva" and became a creature of intellect and spirituality.
During the time when Shiva fought alongside Richard Dragon and Ben Turner, the trio became renowned, and feared, in criminal circles. As the years passed, Dragon tired of fighting and retired to seclusion. During this period Ben Turner became involved with the man that would transform him into the Bronze Tiger, leaving Shiva alone.
Lady Shiva Wu-San has devoted her entire life to the quest for perfection in the martial arts, traveling to every corner of the globe in pursuit of a new technique, a better opponent, another form.
To finance her studies, Shiva hired her- self out as a mercenary, ignoring the moral implications of her actions in favor of perfecting her art. This brought her into contact with the populace of Hub City and its champion, Vic Sage -the Question. Shiva was impressed by Sage's Qualities, rescuing him from death and bringing him to the secluded Richard Dragon for instruction on the finer points of the martial arts.
Recently, Shiva sought the master of Koroshi -empty-handed fighting -to find out how a man called King Snake defeated him. Learning nothing from the victim, she searched for King Snake him-self, crossing paths with the current Protoge of Batman: Robin (III).
Robin found himself fighting King Snake's criminal organization along- side Shiva and a DEA agent named Clyde Rawlins. During this adventure Shiva agreed to teach Robin, and it was she who gave the Boy Wonder his collapsible staff. Given her global adventures, Lady Shiva has acquaintances in many countries in addition to supplies, cash and safe houses. She has been known to frequent New York and Paris slightly more often than other cities, but it is not known how to contact her. As of late, it isn’t uncommon to see her in Gotham City as well.
Shiva continues to roam the world seeking perfection as a martial artist and can be found on the good or bad side of a struggle - or anything in between.
Shiva continues to learn and grow in many ways, and as a result she is considered by many to be the finest practicing martial artist alive. Since Shiva's education includes all forms of the martial arts, she is well practiced in the healing arts as well as the combative. Her skills are myriad and she is always seeking out new forms of combat to sample and master.
This single-minded passion has led her to become the premier martial artist in the world. Not even Batman has successfully defeated her in solo hand-to-hand combat. In fact, there's only person to have ever beaten Shiva - Batgirl.
At their first meeting, Shiva could see that, at last, she had found someone to potentially rival herself. But she sensed something was keeping Batgirl from achieving her full potential. Shiva therefore agreed to help unlock that potential, for a price: Batgirl must then meet her in a battle to the death one year later.
Batgirl agreed to the fight and arrived at the proper time, not expecting to survive the encounter. Instead, she realized that Shiva also had a subliminal deathwish; it was this insight, along with her unsurpassed skill and physical prowess, which allowed Batgirl to triumph.
Recently Shiva had aided Oracle operative: Black Canary in avenging the death of their former master and in rescuing a group of young woman, belived to have been the cyber-hacker: Oracle. She had also recently been sited in Washington as a bounty hunter in an attempt to arrest Superman for Former President Lex Luthor.
***Meanwhile***
Lady Shiva stood across the street from the dojo, and smiled. Enoki was still alive. He was one of the two martial arts teacher who she hadn't killed after they completed her training. She could have at anytime. But she had a rare bout of kindess, when they went their seperate paths. Perhaps it had been a mistake...

Enoki rubbed his beard thoughtfully. "makes me glad i didnt teach her THAT technique...to be able to kill with a single touch..." He thought to himself then said outloud. "adam. you cannot defeat someone like lady shiva." He said getting to his feet. "She is too strong...but no matter how good you are someone is always better..."
"grandpa?" Adam asked looked at Enoki as he walked to a set of scrolls he had. (in ancient japan martial artists often applied technique instruction to scrolls too pass to their succesor) and took one out reading over it quickly.
"but she seems to have targeted you for battle..." He sighed.

Shiva raised an eyebrow, as she listened in on their conversation. Unknown to Shinobi, she had slipped an eavesdropping devise on Shinobi's costume when she had been 'examining' him.
"I knew the old man had been holding out on me," she thought. Enoki always was a bit protective of his craft. Another reason she was glad he didn't kill him. He had always been hidding something from her during their training together. He knew that she could have killed him at anytime, but he had always refused to show her his strongest technique. This just gave her more time to learn that technique and perhaps use it on the old man.
"Pitty..." she smiled. "He was a great dancer..."

"i hope you heard what you needed to." Enoki said reaching onto adam's cloak and pulling off the device. (...what he IS possibly the best remaining ninjutsu master alive...i think he would suspect her of doing something like that) "if you wish to fight my grandson come inside and we will decide the when and where."

(Maybe not THE best, but one of the best ninjitsu masters...)
Shiva smiled. The old man hadn't lost his skill or his arrogance.
They didn't hear her enter the dojo, until she was found once again leaning up against a wall, with the same sadistic smirk she had when she had first approached Shinobi.
"You were holding out on me all those months, Enoki," she said. "You knew why I had come to you, and yet you refused to honor my request to learn you're strongest technique. I should kill you for that alone, old man."

He said taking a tone she remembered from when he lecterued her. "the diffrence between student and teacher is a great one."
