Teen Titans is DC'S "best seller" right now, and Tim is important part of the Team. They just won't mess with that.

OKAY. Everyone take a deep breath and take two steps back. Calm down. Examin the situation. Examin the article.
... ... ... Now's MY chance to over react : NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THEY CAN'T DO THIS! TIM'S THE BEST ROBING EVER! HE HAS CONFLICTS! HE HAS PROBLEMS! HE HAS SELF DOUBTS AND FEARS! BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, HE'S STILL A COOL, CALM, LEVELHEADED GOOD GUY! THEY CAN'T DO THIS!
I SAY WE START AN ONLINE PETITION!
.... ....
NOW, look at the article. It says the new robin will be constantly compared to Tim. Maybe that's a small foreshadowing of a return, HOPEFULLY as Robin, or--at the worse-- a new hero. Because someone that good can't stay out of costume for long(At least I hope so)
I agree, this isn't a joke! This is terrible. Tim has been the Robin for the past ten years and deserves to be him for much much longer.
BUT, we need to calm down abit here. Thikn of ways we can STOP him from quiting instead of just strutting around p.o.'d (No offense Alan. I'm as mad as you are about this. Tim, next to SG and Nightwing, is one of my favorite characters)
I know this isn't EXACTLY the same situation but...
Spidergirlfans saved 'Mayday' from cancelation THREE times by writting letters and signing petitions. Maybe we can do the same.
Find the address for DC. Overflow them with letters. Give them a reason WHY Tim should continue to be Robin(Alan, your in English, you could probably write a good persuasive letter or thesis or whatever)
Someone(I'm assuming Alan might want to be the one to start this) start an online petition. And then... Go to every Batman and/Or Robin/Comicbook message board you can. Inform them of whats happening to their favorite character. Have them to sign the petition and write letters and emails to dc. Then when we get enough signings, send it to dc. Give them so much mail(snail and email) that they don't know what to do with it all.
It worked for a few SERIES in Cancelation. It could possibly work for a character in cancelation as well.
We can't just sit around and vent. We have t DO something.
I realize he's just a 'fictional' charater. But don't we all, n some way or another for some reason, use comics as a form of escape and allow these fictional worlds to become a bit of our reality?
It won't COMPLETELY destroy my life if they replace robin, but it won't ever truely be the same. If it wasn't for seeing how cool robin was in the 'World without Grownups' mini a year and half ago. I wouldn't BE into DC Comics. I wouldn't have found out about YJ, or Batman, or anyother cool titles. I would still be reading Manga and not knowing what direction to go with my life. Reading Robin lead me to Nightwing, which led me to allot of cool artist sites. Which helped me figure out what I wanted to be today: A comic artist.
A little over dramatic? Maybe. Over-reacting? most likely. For good reason? Most definitely.
The dc universe will be loosing a good hero if they get rid of tim. They already destroyed Dick and Babs relationship. Let's just be patient and wait to see how it turns out. Maybe it's not as bad as it looks.....hopefully. Maybe it's just a story arc that will lead to Tim coming back better than before.
I gotta go now guys. Moms near grounding level as it is if I don't get off...later.

I've already posted my disgust with DC on their message boards as well as every other site that I know of related to Batman and Company. There are alot of people out there who feel the same way we do but there are also those saying to just let it happen. (The Fools...)
And thanks for the vote of confidence.
But you're right Rach. We do have the power in this situation. I've talked to a number of other Tim Drake fans already sending DC letters demanding that they reconsider their choices in Batman's future partners.
If a series like Spider-Girl can be saved by fans, so can a character like Tim Drake.
I'm already writing a letter to the company. So I implore all you other Tim Drake fans to do the same. Send them in and post them here. Then we can hit them with double the letters!
Sure, it might be over-dramatic but Tim Drake as Robin has always been my all-time favorite comic hero. The very first Batman comic I ever own was when Tim Drake was first introduced and wore the original Robin uniform.
And I've always wanted to write or draw for a Bat-comic. If they retire Tim permanently I might loose the oppurtunity to write for my favorite character.

Wait....I wanted to write for robin ... ... ... Ah well, I'll draw for it instead Agreed. If a book like Spider-girl, which has a small, but dedicated fan base can save their character, we should be able to save Tim drake from retiring as robin. ....I'm going to start on my letter to DC tonight. I have to think up everything I want to say first.

We can switch Rach, one issue you write for Robin and I draw and the next I write and you draw! It's going to take me a bit to write my letter. While I have calmed down a great deal, I still get steamed a bit at the idea of loosing my favorite comic character. So I've got to make certain I don't loose my temper and start writing many bad 4 letter words in my letter.

I'm multi-lingual. Comes from living with a mother from Spain. Also I had to learn some basic Korenan for my Tae Kwon Do class and well... it's amazing what you find online.... Deal, Falc. But that's assuming there is a Robin comic to write when we get there.... And if you draw YJ I get to write!

LOL. We'll be a two person take over! ... Unless Fab and Jake want to write/draw ....then It'll be a four person. We'll hog all the good books to ourselvs And of course there will be a robin! You can't have a batman without a robin....And we're going to make sure TIM stays Robbie or course.....after all, he IS a fan favorite, and not just on this site.

It's not like it hasn't happened before. Just look at: Doom Patrol Teen Titans ...And many others that I don't know of.

I thought they were pretty good. Not great, but I did buy them from time to time. I miss Impulse though. He was always so much fun to read.

I'm skipping over just about everything thusfar, so I may skip over some good points and if I do feel free to gripe at me, but I have mixed feelings. For one: I like Tim a lot. He's probably my favorite Robin out of them all. Now don't get me wrong, Grayson's all well and good, but I see him as Nightwing and a whole different hero. When he was Robin he was ok, but he got stuck in a bad era for the first half of his career. I mean he was there in the old comics where everything was cheesy and you didn't get as much of a look into the character's persona. (I loved those.) But still, I think a female Robin would be awesome. Not only that, but it would make a cool change HOWEVER. That would make A LOT of the Batclan female. Nightwing and Alf would be the only males remaining other'n Bats himself and you can't really count Alfred. It would also make me want to know... Why doesn't Tim become a hero like Dick did? He can't stop unless he's like killed or paralized and quite honestly, I'm not so sure the latter could stop'im. Still... If they replace. I'd like a female Robin. It'd be cool to have someone like Carrie Kelly, but she'd be a bit too young right now... I dunno, but I can't help but think a female Robin'd be cool. I would like to see more men in the comic too tho. I mean seriously. Oracle, Huntress, sometimes Spoiler or Black Canary, Batgirl...And then Batman, Robin and Nightwing. Take out a male Robin and... Well, you see where I'm going. And (Hush spoiler coming up people): Who's going to replace (The special helper and mechanic for Batman) that was killed in Hush? Alfred can't do EVERYTHING.

Well putted Jake. Sometimes, only sometimes, you can say something smart. Not too often though... Just sometimes.
